4 people have been charged in Rochester for plotting a terror attack against the Islamic community of Islamberg, just 30 miles from us. 3 adults and a 16 year old boy are charged with making homemade bombs, obtained guns, and organizing a plot to attack the community. Police began investigating after students at the 16 year old’s school reported suspicious behavior. 


New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a new law protecting a woman’s right to choose in New York State. The Reproductive Health Act decriminalizes abortions, expands the accessibility of late-term abortions, and protects the law from federal rulings. Some are worried it will pave the way for on-demand abortions during the third trimester.  

 

Calls to AAA have, well, tripled because of the cold in the Southern Tier. From battery jumps to breakdowns, lots of drivers have had headaches form the weather. AAA reminds you to keep your gas tank full and cell phone charged. The Oscar Nominations are out. Roma and The Favourite have the most nominations with ten each, including Best Picture and Best Actress in a Leading Role. Other films up for Best Picture are Black Panther, BlacKkKlansmann, Bohemian Rhapsody, Green Book, A Star is Born and Vice. The Oscars are on February 24th.  

 

The son of late actor James Gandolfini will play a younger version of Tony in The Sopranos' film sequel. 19-year-old Michael Gandolfini auditioned and perfectly captured the look and mannerisms of the character originated by his father.
