Yodeling Walmart Kid Could Be Performing At Coachella

Walmart Yodel Kid

Whip out those flower crowns, people, because Coachella 2018 has finally arrived! AND, there could be a new artist added to the lineup. TMZ is reporting that everyone's new favorite viral sensation, Yodeling Walmart Boy, may just be heading out to the desert in Indio, California.

According to TMZ, sources close to the 11-year-old "Lil Hank Williams" (real name Mason Ramsey) say that he is "set the share the stage with some of music's hottest acts," including Chicago producer/DJ Whethan (who apparently some people believe looks like the young Walmart Yodeler). After Mason went viral for his unique set of pipes at a Walmart in his native Illinois, Whethan even tweeted, "Stop saying I look like the Walmart yodel kid."

Apparently, Post Malone is also trying to have Mason make a guest appearance during his Coachella set, TMZ reports. However, if Mason does make a Coachella appearance, it's likely not to happen until weekend two (April 20th), due to his upcoming appearance at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday, April 14th -- the same day Post Malone is performing during the first 2018 Coachella weekend.

But, never fear, TMZ's sources say that Mason's team is still trying to make Coachella with Post Malone happen.

Mason first went viral after a video of him yodeling Hank Williams' song "Lovesick Blues" at a Walmart in Harrisburg, Illinois rapidly made its way around the internet. Dubbed the "Walmart Yodeling Kid," he gained so much popularity that he landed an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and another performance at the same Walmart.

And not only has the original video gone viral, the internet has done what it does best and has found its way to transform into many autotune remixes of the clip.

This year, Coachella goes down in Indio, California during the weekends of April 13th and April 22nd -- two weekends full of amazing performances from some of the biggest artists out there including Beyoncé, who had to cancel her performance last year due to her pregnancy with the twins (Rumi and Sir). Also headlining this year is The Weeknd, who just recently surprise-released a new EP My Dear Melancholy, as well as Eminem, who made his big return to the music scene this year by releasing his ninth studio album Revival.

The 2018 Coachella lineup also includes bands and artists like HAIM, Tyler, The Creator, Post Malone, Migos, Cardi B (who just released her debut album Invasion of Privacy and is currently pregnant), Miguel, Portugal. The Man, SZA, Kygo, and more. And in true Coachella fashion, there are bound to be surprise guest appearances (maybe Walmart Yodel Kid!).
