'The Flash' Star Logan Williams Dead At 16

Logan Williams, the star best known as Barry Allen on CW's The Flash, has passed away. He was 16.

According to reports, the young actor suddenly died on Thursday (April 2). Although a cause of death has not yet been revealed, Williams' mother, Marlyse Williams, told The Tri-City News the family is "absolutely devastated" by the tragic news. Making matters worse, the loss has been especially painful for Marlyse due to mandatory COVID-19 (coronavirus) physical distancing restriction orders that have kept the family from being able to grieve together during this unprecedented time. “I am not able to hug my parents who lost their only grandchild,” Marlyse told the publication.

“It's hard. … With his talent and gorgeous looks, Logan had the potential to be a huge star,” she added of her son, who had been on the rise after earning a number of acting credits in projects like When Calls the Heart, Supernatural, Whispers, and others.

Flash co-star Grant Gustin was among those to remember Logan on Instagram with a nostalgic, flashback photo and a heartfelt message. “Just hearing the devastating news that Logan Williams has passed away suddenly,” Gustin begins the post. “I was so impressed by not only Logan’s talent but his professionalism on set."

"My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family during what is I’m sure an unimaginably difficult time for them," Gustin continued, concluding with, "Please keep Logan and his family in your thoughts and prayers during what has been a strange and trying time for us all," he added. "Sending love to everyone.”

Logan, described by friends as a “gentle and very loving and very kind soul,” is survived by his mother, father Clive, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
