Katy Perry invited four excited fans to join her on stage during her latest "Lifetimes Tour" stop in Detroit, Michigan, over the weekend, and the moment took an unexpected turn.

The "California Gurls" hitmaker welcomed the Katy Cats with open arms and asked them to help her perform "The One That Got Away," per Us Weekly.

Video footage taken by an audience member shows a fan named McKenna appearing visibly overwhelmed to be on stage. After asking her to join the band, Perry noticed that she was having trouble breathing. Just as the songstress was getting ready to start the song, McKenna fell to the floor and started shaking.

Perry quickly dropped to her knees to help the fan, and paramedics rushed to the stage.

"Dear God, we pray for McKenna, that she will come back fully and brighter and better than ever. Amen," the icon remarked before singing the Teenage Dream track. After serenading the crowd, Perry spoke on McKenna's behalf, explaining how intense it can feel to be on stage, meeting your idol in front of thousands of people.

"It’s so much. Sometimes you’re so brave and you can get on stage, and it’s overwhelming. I understand that feeling," the star mentioned before performing "Roar." Perry offered an update on McKenna's health at the end of the song, stating, "McKenna’s doing great, by the way," and shouted her name at the end of the track.
