Ethan Slater is showing some love for his girlfriend Ariana Grande following her latest achievement.

The Broadway actor seemingly shut down rumors he and his Wicked costar have split by reacting to one of Grande's big moments at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 7). The pair have reportedly been dating since 2023 following her divorce from Dalton Gomez and his separation from ex-wife Lilly Jay.

While Slater didn't accompany his girlfriend to the show, he still played the role of supportive boyfriend on his Instagram Stories by sharing her acceptance speech after winning the award for Best Pop for her project "brighter days ahead" and highlighting how she also took home a moonman trophy for Video of the Year, per E! News.

"I have to start by saying thank you so much to my fans. I'm gonna cry," she said. "I love you with every fiber of my being. Thank you, MTV. Thank you to my dad [Edward Butera], who acted in this video for the first time in his life. He is the best scene partner and dad in the world."

Grande also thanked "brighter days ahead" director Christian Breslauer as well as her team of editors, producers, designers and more for helping make her dream for the visuals a reality.

"Thank you so much for bringing these songs and this vision to life and articulating them visually in a way that was fanciful and yet specific and vulnerable and yet protective, all at once."

Hosted by LL Cool J, the 2025 MTV VMAs featured performances from some of the day's biggest artists, such as Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Alex Warren, Tate McRae, Post Malone, Jelly Roll, and more.
