Dreaming of a farmhouse kitchen like the ones featured on HGTV?  Come see how Vintage Back Roads created a full-scale farmhouse kitchen sure to WOW, showcasing lots of natural wood—a trend for 2019 to help bring the outdoors indoors.

See how best to incorporate the new Pantone color Living Coral chosen for its feeling of optimism or how to adapt a similar hue if that isn’t a favorite.  Madeleine Banks of Home Design by Madeleine Banks will be speaking about how to upgrade any home, creating a personalized home regardless of budget.  In that seminar she will focus on: kitchen and bathroom design trends and color trends. Banks said, "My favorite design trends for 2019 are the increased use of warmer and richer hues! I like to use them to bring energy and warmth to a room.”

Guest speakers Dana Tyson, host of Sunny 99.1’s morning show, and her son, realtor/home builder, Bobby Tyson share the backstory on how they restored a 1922 historic East-end home.  “It started with a conversation with her husband that went something like this.  Bob told Dana, "we need to tear it down", and she said, "trust me"... “he's glad he trusted me,” joked Dana.  Dana and Bobby will be featured on the Home Stage at 1 p.m. on both Saturday January 26 and Sunday January 27, where they will also share tips on their newest renovation, providing advice and tips to would-be do-it yourselfers.

The popular Vintage Market component returns bustling with timely, yet vintage finds.  And the whole family can get crafty with hourly, hands-on mini-workshops from The Rustic Brush Katy.  For a small $10 fee, guests can make unique décor to take home.  There’s also a specialized Gift Market with over 20 unique shops and home-made items to get a jump on Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Mother’s Day.

The largest home show in the Southwest features two buildings and two floors over-flowing with inspiration, including over 250 industry experts specializing in kitchen and bath; home décor; windows & doors; flooring; paint; furnishings and more. Get inspired and ready to renovate and decorate! 

Come hungry as fabulous food truck fare is featured both days of the show including a “Burger Throwdown” on Saturday where food trucks Foreign Policy, The Sauer Kraut and Curbside Sliderz Katy compete for “Best Signature Burger,” judged by area foodies.

Honoring Hometown Heroes

On Sunday, anyone currently in the military, fire department, police force or an active EMT can receive FREE admission for two by showing a valid service ID at the Box Office for two complimentary tickets.  “We believe it’s important to thank those that serve our community throughout the year,” said Robyn Cade, Founder and CEO of RJC Productions, the show’s producer.

Putt for a Good Cause

Additionally, the show benefits the Ballard House.  Golfers and wannabe golfers can test their putting skills, win prizes and help support a great, local charity. Presented in conjunction with PGA TOUR Superstore.
