Weezer drops cover album with surprising tunes.

Weezer has long been known as a hard rockin' band.

They burst on the music scene in 1993 when their debut "Blue Album" went triple platinum, thanks to songs like  "Buddy Holly".  In 2018, they found surprising success thanks to a number one 80's tune originally performed by Toto titled "Africa", which they covered and brought back as a hit on this radio station.

Thursday morning, Weezer dropped their "Teal Album", which features more 80's cover tunes.  You'll find some more surprises, like Micheal Jackson's "Billie Jean"(hear the new take below), "No Scrubs" by TLC, "Sweet Dreams" from the Eurythmics, and more from Tears For Fears, ELO and Ben E. King's classic "Stand By Me".

Is karaoke your thing?  It appears to be for Weezer today!  Until their sixth album comes out on March 14.

For now, enjoy this new sample of "Take On Me", which was a hit for A-ha in 1985, and is back as Weezer's latest on Jan. 24, 2019.

Here's the original from A-ha:

And now, for your weekend...Weezer takes on the King of Pop Micheal Jackson:

It ain't the original.....
