Officials of Islamberg say the four Rochester-area suspects who planned to attack their village should be given Federal Terrorism charges. They say if a Muslim did the same thing it would have triggered a sweeping investigation by federal authorities, and that there is a double standard. 

  

The now former Superintendent of West Genesee Schools is getting a $120-thousand buy-out and health insurance. Dr. Chris Brown and the school board agreed to those terms yesterday. He is accused of having an affair with a school district employee by his wife on social media. 

 

State lawmakers have passed the DREAM Act. It gives undocumented immigrants access to state aid when applying for colleges. Republicans argue that people who are unlawfully in the U.S. should not have access to state scholarships. 

 

President Trump says he'll give his State of the Union address when the government shutdown is over. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi canceled next week's scheduled speech, saying it shouldn't happen until the government is fully funded again. 

 

Carrie Underwood gave birth to her second child, a son named Jacob, on Monday. She shared the news on Instagram with photos of her and her husband, Mike Fisher, their three-year-old son, Isaiah, and the newborn. She wrote that their hearts are full, their eyes are tired and their lives are forever changed.
